Dr. Pincofski knew that she wanted to become an orthodontist at nine years old! That's when she began her own orthodontic treatment, and even wearing headgear didn't kill the dream. Her orthodontist in Illinois (her home state), Dr. Sam Nickel, became her lifelong mentor. He offered advice and encouragement throughout her academic career. "Dr. P" ( as her patients call her), earned her BS in Biology at Loyola University, graduating magna cum laude. She then went on to earn her dental degree at Southern Illinois University, where she was inducted into the dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Upon completing her residency three years later, she became certified as an orthodontic specialist in 1988 at Eastman Dental Center "Her enthusiasm, passion, professionalism and accessibility is rare. You would think that Dr. Pincofski was fresh out of school, no visible signs of burnout, which tells me she truly loves what she does and cares."

When asked about her passion for leopards, Dr. Pincofski smiles and replies, "I can't explain it. I've loved them ever since I was a young child."
